Four voter-approved bond measures have generated $9.59 billion in financial resources for the program. Proposition A,$1.245 billion (in 2001); Proposition AA,$980 million (in 2003); Measure J,$3.5 billion (in 2008); and Measure CC,$3.3 billion (in 2016), combined with additional funding by state and federal programs, makes BuildLACCD the largest community college construction bond program in the country. To date, more than 660 projects have been completed, including 40 LEED certified academic and administrative buildings. Looking forward, approximately $4 billion remains to be allocated for new projects, while an additional 50 projects are underway or in the design pipeline. BuildLACCD is an important component of the local construction economy in the Greater Los Angeles County area, with about 34% of construction jobs filled by local workers, exceeding the 30% hire goal under 2001 PLA.
