15 LOS ANGELES COMMUNIT Y COLLEGE DISTRICT Los Angeles Trade-Technical College Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC) truly transforms lives. It is the oldest of LACCD’s nine community colleges and has been serving students for more than 90 years with an unmatched list of career education training and transfer classes. LATTC offers more career education programs on a single campus than any other college west of the Mississippi River. LATTC has become a leader among community colleges in development of Guided Pathways, which leads students to more successful completions. Whether a student is seeking an industry-recognized certification, a degree or transfer to a four- year university, LATTC offers programs and disciplines in nine specific educational pathways not offered at other colleges. These pathways have been developed to create an environment of efficient completion and industry alignment to enhance job placement and transfer success. LATTC has built partnerships with industry leaders and unions, so that students can move into solid careers which can help support their families and communities. Our reputation for preparing students for these careers is extremely strong with employers throughout the region who look to LATTC to assist in the development of the region’s future workforce. A C L O S E R L O O K • The Culinary Arts Pathway trains and graduates some of the best “Top Chefs” in the nation. It is the oldest culinary program of its kind in the nation at a community college. • LATTC’s largest Guided Pathway is its Construction, Maintenance and Utilities education program with deep relationships to many of Southern California’s industries and building trades. • The college’s Transportation Workforce Institute is the only such community college program in the U.S. • LATTC is also well known for its pathways in fashion design and media arts. The college’s “Gold Thimble” fashion show highlights the haute couture of student fashion designers. • At LATTC, students take great pride in giving back to the community.
