ANNUAL REPORT 14 Los Angeles Southwest College Since its founding in1967, Los Angeles Southwest College (LASC) has been dedicated to social justice, community activism, and ensuring that all students receive a truly transformational college experience that empowers them for success in our local community, as well as their higher education goals and beyond. The recent influx of support for campus infrastructure and progressive programs combined with high-quality instruction and dedicated classified professionals provide LASC students with a learning environment that helps focus their lives and advocates for them to give back to their communities. LASC is an important resource in South Los Angeles and continues to be a true community partner by helping address local issues of concern such as homelessness, food scarcity, access to employment opportunities that pay livable wages, rights of our undocumented students and supporting incarcerated individuals as they reenter society. Nestled in unincorporated Los Angeles County, LASC is just minutes from Los Angeles International Airport as well as the cities of Los Angeles, Gardena, Hawthorne and Inglewood.
